Scottish Record Label Lost Map Records are currently celebrating their 10th Year Anniversary and bring their Midlands Tour Date to a Telford Club on Fri 10th Nov 2023. The record label,  home to an eclectic mix of Indie artists, is bringing their latest project Weird Wave to the Firefly, Oakengates, Telford, TF2 6EJ supported by Pictish Trail.

The enigmatic record label boss Johnny Lynch has teamed up with seven other musicians on his label  to create Lost Map presents Weird Wave, a Lost Map super group. Joined by drummer Iain Stewart, multi-instrumentalist Suse Bear, guitarist and singer Kate Lazda (Kid Canaveral), bassist Bart Owl (Eagleowl), violinist Robyn Dawson, Savage Mansion frontman Craig Angus and Canadian singer-songwriter L.T. Leif, the octet released their debut album this month attracting much interest on the Indie Music Scene. Astral Difficulties the first single release from the album is nine-and-a-half minutes of relentless drums, driving grooves, effervescent synths, and psychedelic vocals. Weird Wave the album was written and recorded on the Isle of Eigg off Scotland in less than one week. Lynch in commenting on the album said, “it is absolutely not what we were expecting from this self-professed 'party band', but we are here for it and are excited to be touring it.” Lynch will also be performing as part of Weird Wave and also playing support under the guise of Pictish Trail.

The tour is being brought to Telford by Not-for Profit Community Music Promoters Pale Fire Music & Left for Dead Records, working with Scott Adams of the Firefly, who a few months ago secured Arts Council England (ACE) Funding. Mike Veric from the Community Music Project said, “ACE funding has made it possible to bring touring artists such as these to Telford,  also ACE funding means that tickets prices can be kept low which during the current cost of living crisis is a welcome thing for music fans in the town.”
