Opportunity Description

Local homelessness organisations Stay, Maninplace, Kip and YMCA are seeking passionate and caring people to help fundraise in order to raise vital funds for their work supporting homeless and vulnerable people in the area.

We need help with fundraising events already set up, arranging new fundraising events and encouraging others to fundraise to help Telford's homeless.

There is no set requirement regarding the amount of time it is simply as much time as you are able to give. No previous experience required.

So if you have a passion for helping homeless and vulnerable people then please get in touch and help us to support people to change their lives and leave homelessness behind forever.

Requirements

Volunteer Responsibilities (the main tasks that the volunteer will be expected to carry out) • Assist with fundraising events • Assist with awareness raising events • Organise fundraising activities • Carry out fundraising activities • Encourage people to fundraise • Take part in fundraising activities and events Skills / Personal Qualities Required (e.g. communication, IT literate, specialist knowledge, non-judgemental etc.) • A passion for helping homeless and vulnerable people • A team player • Great communication skills • Friendly and approachable • Non-judgmental • Someone creative, computer literate, with some social media skills would be desirable though not essential Benefits (what the volunteer will get from this opportunity) Volunteering has benefits for the individual. It provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge, it can increase social skills and self-confidence and can be a stepping stone for employment. You will be given a certificate to mark your achievements during placements and references can be provided. Training (is there any training needed beforehand?) A full brief on the services provided by each homeless organisation will be given. Training and guidance on social media etc will be given. There will be time spent going through the policies and procedures around fundraising, social media etc when taking on this role.
