Anstice Community Trust was formed to bring The Anstice Memorial Hall back into use, enabling this historical building to be the community hub at the heart of Madeley. The Anstice has received an extensive refurbishment and is now an ‘open to all’ community use building which includes a renowned ballroom, community café, meeting spaces and also home to the Library. The Trust are now looking for Administration Volunteers to help continue the support of The Anstice to stay a community hub for the local area.

Location of Role: The Anstice

Summary of Role: To assisting the Centre Director with the day to day administration tasks

Description of Voluntary Tasks: Working closely with the Centre Director and the Volunteer Manager, Administration Volunteer are required to assist with the day to day running of the administration at The Anstice

  • Answering the telephone and taking accurate messages
  • Completing booking request forms for the Centre Director
  • Meeting and greeting visitors
  • Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to photocopying, mailing and filing
  • Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system
  • Organising, writing and sending correspondence
  • Working as part of a team


Time Commitment: Flexible, 1-2 hours per week on a weekly basis. Role to be reviewed at three months, with a one month trial period Skills and Qualifications: • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills including an in-depth knowledge of grammar and spelling • Problem solving capabilities • Strong organisational and time management skills • Strong writing skills • Ability to work to deadlines and on own initiative • High degree of computer literacy of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook • An interest in working on a local project to benefit the local community • Confident, good communicator with general public • Able to work without Supervision • Can be flexible with their time. Training and Support: Regular contact with Centre Director and Volunteer Manager to provide information, support and training as required.
