The Senior Citizens Forum helps older people in Telford & Wrekin by providing information about services, activities and volunteering. It encourages them to get involved, remain active and independent and to get their voices and opinions heard.
The Forum is a small charity relying on grants and donations, and currently supported by Big Lottery funding. Run by a board of trustees and supported by two employees, it has a membership of around 2400 older people. Membership is free and open to people resident in the area, who are generally but not exclusively over the age of 55.
The Forum holds regular open forums throughout the year at various venues featuring speakers on a variety of key topics. It also hosts social events and every two months a free magazine is sent to all our members by post or by email. It includes articles on current local and national issues, and gives details about local activities, consultation projects, leisure pursuits, events and volunteering opportunities, alongside the Forum’s website, Facebook and Twitter sites.
Our current opportunities include Trustee.
